Emptyhouse Film began in 2001 when founders Andy Davis and Scott
Morabito were trying to figure out a name for their film project company. In
the wake of 9/11, the duo decided they shouldn't use their former banner ZERO
DOOMSDAY PRODUCTIONS, where they made experimental short films like
MECHANAZOID and TV NATION. The duo embarked on making bigger and better short
films that concentrated on backwoods living and horror. Between 2001 and 2004
the Emptyhouse team made three films, THE PUMPKIN MAN, THE DARK, and BENEATH
THE FROST LINE.
In 2004 Scott Morabito went on to write and direct his own short film,
BAD GRAVITY (currently in post production.) In 2005, Andy Davis teamed up
with executive producer/cinematographer Olin smith to make the group's first
feature film, MUD (currently in post production.)
