Hey everyone!
Just wanted to send a little update on the edit. It is Saturday, March 25th at around 2 am. I've been editing 2 at home for the past 4 days and am at 25 minutes. It's a pretty good 25 minutes so far. Lots of fun scenes, some great gore, scares, humor and a general sense of discomfort. It's been a real treat to see each scene come together, many scenes with great surprises even to me. Anyhow, theres my update, keep those "edit jail letters" comin!

Bringing ZOMBIES to life. The final stages of "2" and a new music video!

On Saturday, February 17th over 100 zombies attacked the Riverdam Millyard in Biddeford for the shooting of the zombie horror film "2", a new feature film by Motion Media/John Lane Films/Emptyhouse Film.

Now, over twenty-three hours of footage is being cut down into ninety minutes. "The editing process is where we really tell the story that we caught on film. The footage really shines. We really achieved what we set out to create," Said Executive Producer John Lane.

Production on "2" lasted twelve days. The cast and crew faced five gallons of blood, hundreds of zombie extras, 3 boxes of makeup, frigid temperatures, and a fire. "I'm very happy with the way the production turned out. Despite our challenges, like the fire, we came out on time and with great footage to craft our film, it's a credit to everyone involved." Said Producer Olin Smith.

"2" tells the story of two survivors of a biological attack that has turned the world upside down and how they deal with their situation. "2" stars C. James Roberts (Mr.Barrington) and Molly Roberts (The Dark). "Our actors not only gave us great performances, but in many cases really helped breathe life into the story by contributing many great ideas. In the end, 2 has taken on a life of it's own, and that's what I like to see with all of our films." Said Co-Writer/Director Andy Davis.

The Portland based band "Covered in Bees" is creating soundtrack music. The band was featured on the "Poultrygeist" soundtrack by Troma Films last year. A music video for the song "Zombees" was shot during the production of the movie and can be found at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f5VwvwWO4oM

Hello Everyone.
On behalf of myself and Olin and John, please let me just say it was a total pleasure to work with all of you in making one of our dreams come true. Shooting for "2" wrapped last night around 10 pm in a total bloodbath in the bedroom set. Even I, who had maintained a mostly "bloodless" week of shooting came out of the scene pretty gross….you should have seen the actors. Many of you have asked when the film will be completed, it is looking like it will be done by July. After that, we'll have a premiere to show it to everyone that was involved. After that, it may hit some festivals and we will try to get distribution for it.

We will be sending out emails in the weeks to come with new pics and videos, so be on the lookout for those. In the meantime, many of you have already signed up on our forum at http://emptyhouse.sabatos.net/board/ if you have not already become a member, please let this be your invite, as lots of news will be posted there and talked about. You'll also be able to find everyone you met on the set there in case you missed the chance to get the contact info.

Also, many of you have sent me great photos. Below you'll find a couple of links to some great galleries. We'd love to have your pics on cd, so if you took a bunch of pics, please email me if you can make a cd. Your sacrifices were at times intense, and always amazing.

Jim, Molly and Diane, you three went to hell and back each day…and not just once a day, like ten or fifteen times. You put yourselves and your well being on the line for this.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that we're proud of all of you. You constantly exceeded our expectations and were all a pleasure to be around.

Hi Everyone!
Thanks for emailing to check on us after hearing the news about the
fire in the mill we are shooting in. No zombie or crew member or gear
was hurt or destroyed and the fire was way down in the back in the
courtyard at a woodworking shop that had alot of paint. We were able
to get back inside the mill around 2 hours after it started...but
there was no power so we wrapped for the day. We're also taking a half
of this day to regroup, but the rest of the week will remain the same
(wed-sat). Big props to the crew we had yesterday for helping us move
expensive gear out of the building very quickly and without incident.
So, in short, the show will go on! Starting tommorrow, things will be
back on schedule.
